The 6 AM Marathon

30 days of early wake-ups and a short workout right after. A morning that belongs to you, not to email and messengers.

Who it’s for

If your morning starts with your phone in bed and your day starts straight away with other people’s tasks, this marathon is for you. The goal is an hour before the working day that you spend on yourself: movement, quiet and a calm start.

Waking up early only works together with going to bed early. So the marathon is not about sleeping less, but about shifting your whole routine.

The rules

By the end of the marathon, every day looks like this:

  • Wake up at 6:00 — on weekdays and weekends, give or take 15 minutes.
  • A 10–15 minute workout right after you get up.
  • The first 30 minutes without your phone.
  • Bed no later than 22:30, so you sleep at least 7 hours.

You don’t need to introduce everything at once — the rules are added week by week.

Four weeks

  1. Week 1 — shifting the routine. If you get up later now, move your wake-up 15 minutes earlier every 2–3 days. Move your bedtime along with it.
  2. Week 2 — the workout. Up at 6:00 and straight into 10–15 minutes of movement.
  3. Week 3 — a morning without the phone. The first 30 minutes after waking up — no email, news or messengers.
  4. Week 4 — all together. All four rules every day, without skipping.

A 12-minute workout

No equipment, on a mat or simply on the floor:

  1. Joint warm-up — 3 minutes. Neck, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles.
  2. Three rounds: 10 squats, 8 push-ups (knees are fine), a 20-second plank. 30 seconds of rest between rounds.
  3. Stretching — 2 minutes. Calmly, without jerks.

If you want more, add rounds rather than speed.

If you slip

Overslept? Don’t make up for it in the evening and don’t restart the marathon. Go to bed on time and get up at 6:00 the next day.

Two rules that hold the routine together: don’t sleep in on weekends for more than an hour, and never miss two days in a row.

What’s next

After 30 days, getting up early stops being a feat and becomes an ordinary morning. And the WNR Telegram bot sends a ready-made morning workout every day — bodyweight, no equipment, 30 minutes. The first 3 days are free.
